Savage industries has released its own Sortimo T-Boxx in my favorite color (orange), with my Savage Industries logo printed on the box lid.

Organization, categorization, and taxonomy have always been a key part of my shop practice since the beginning of being a maker. The idea is that I want to achieve the lowest possible moves to get to mission critical equipment. I call this philosophy: "first order retrievability.”

Halfway through my tenure on Mythbusters, my then cameraman Tim Alewood told me about a German company that outfitted repair vans and ambulances in Europe. The company was called Sortimo and the product he wanted me to see was called the T-Boxx.

This product, featuring up to 48 indexible colored sorting inserts, plus rugged clear tops, and the addition of a handle, immediately captured my attention. I had been putting stuff into different sorting systems for 25 years at that point, and I knew perfection when I came across it. I immediately bought four of them, and the reality of how good they are at sorting exceeded even my excited expectations. I had found my infrastructure solution. I bought 30 of them, followed by 20 more over the next couple of years. I then endeavored to fill them. First with every bearing, spring, rivet, switch, bulb, and electronic part I've been storing for decades.

I then invested in all the nuts, bolts, wing nuts, flat and button heads, and turned my shop into the hardware store of my dreams. I spent days making tiny labels and extensive lists, and eventually built a cross referenced, alphabetized list that I still use today. It tells me where everything is, and in which sorter. There's an entry for both "rubber corks" and "corks, rubber." It needs updating about once a year.

Being able to pull out a discrete container, and to further remove its varying sizes of indexable sub-containers and spill them out, is invaluable in making. A dizzying array of over 100,000 individual objects are immediately available to me. The system allows me to work as fast as I can think.

These are without a doubt the most durable, visible, versatile and useful sorters ever made for a generalist like myself.

SHIPPING & DELIVERY

All orders have a processing time of up to 5 business days, excluding weekends and holidays. Orders are shipped Monday through Friday.

Before we can ship your purchase, we may need to confirm your details with your card issuer. We will do our best to keep any delays to a minimum.

After an order is shipped, you will receive a tracking number. Please allow 12-24 hours for the carrier's system to update before tracking your delivery. If your package does not arrive, please contact us at info@savageindustriesshop.com for assistance.

The shipping carrier assumes all responsibility for delivering your package to the address provided during check-out. Please ensure that the correct shipping information has been entered. We are not able to replace orders shipped to the wrong address. If an undeliverable package is returned to us, a refund will be issued for the purchase price, excluding shipping charges.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

International orders are shipped via a combination of large carriers (UPS, USPS, FedEX) and smaller regional ‘last mile’ carriers.

There are 2 types of international shipping; DDU and DDP. DDU covers the cost of shipping the order. It does not include the duties/taxes applicable to the customer’s country. Duties/Taxes are payable upon delivery and are the responsibility of the customer. DDP includes applicable duties and taxes but comes at a higher cost to ship. Due to the size of some of our products, DDP may not be an available shipping option upon checkout. There are instances where your DDU order can be upgraded to DDP with an additional cost. Please contact us at info@savagemerchandisingllc.com if you would like to upgrade to DDP shipping.

Delivery estimates for international shipping reflect when your package departs US customs, not final delivery in the destination country.

Shipping fees are non-refundable

Savage Industries reserves the right to decline any order. Each order will be reviewed before shipment and a cancellation may be made in specific cases of exceeding order limits, inconsistencies related to the provided billing and shipping address, or a requested shipping destination which we are not allowed to deliver to. If your order is declined, we will credit your account within 24-48 hours.

RETURNS

We love our products and hope that you do too! Should you want to return your purchase, we accept returns within 45 days from the date of order. Kits and printed plans are non-returnable/non-exchangeable.

Free return shipping within the US is available only for bags and aprons. Free return shipping is not offered for any other products. Free return shipping is not offered outside of the US.

International returns must include Harmonized Tariff Code 9801.00.10. Any duty charges collected for an international return that did not include the proper documentation will be deducted from the purchase total.

Refunds (if applicable)
To qualify for a return, the item must be in its original condition. Products that have been used, damaged or altered will not be accepted for return. Shipping costs and credit card fees are non-refundable.

If approved, your refund will be processed and a credit will be issued to the original method of payment.

Late or missing refunds (if applicable)
If your refund does not successfully post to your account, please send an email to info@savageindustriesshop.com to confirm that it was processed.

Sale items (if applicable)
Only regular priced items are refundable. Sale items cannot be refunded.

Exchanges
We do not offer exchanges. We will repair or exchange defective or damaged items. Send us an email at info@savageindustriesshop.com if your item needs to be repaired or replaced.

Gift Cards
We do not offer gift cards. All returned items are refunded to the original form of purchase.
